Nine enhanced command support vehicles (ECSVs) have been completed by AES of Manchester primarily to provide command and control facilities at New Dimension incidents. Fire & rescue services will, however, be able to use these vehicles at local incidents. The vehicles are based on the Iveco 65C17 Air Ride Daily van and delivery is being completed in 2008.
The new units support a crew of four and provide a driver’s cab, central communications
and operating compartment, and an equipment stowage area. Landline and mobile telephone
telephone systems are installed together with radio and satellite equipment to meet
