Firefighting in Kent

 

The fireboat Fireflair was built in 1957 and originally served with the Royal Army Service Corps. In 1961 she was jointly commissioned by Kent and Essex Fire Brigades to provide fire cover on the River Thames, and berthed at Denton Wharf, Gravesend.
