Also new in 1953 were two Commer 42A / HCB hose layers. PKR 56, seen here, was allocated to Maidstone, while PKR 161 went to Canterbury. E. J. Baker of Dorking built four more which were put on the run in 1954 and 1955.

 

In 1953 the brigade took delivery of this foam tender from HCB (PKP 857). This was built on a Commer 42A 7-ton chassis and allocated to Strood. Two later foam tenders were built on the same chassis by by E. J. Baker & Co. of Dorking, Surrey.
