The boat is kept permanently on the water and is continuously manned.

 

With the River Mersey running through its area, Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service needs a strong water rescue capability. In September 2008 this Marine Services Technology (MST) rescue boat, capable of 40 knots, was put into service.

In the Summer of 2012 this 2007 Scania P270 / TVAC Plastisol rescue pump, DK57 FKU, was repainted pink as part of the Action on Cancer awareness campaign and allocated to Kensington.
