The author, Harry Klopper, was for many years well-known as the editor-in-chief and owner of Fire magazine and a resident of Kent.

The text is generally chronological and there are few illustrations but without doubt this is a comprehensive account of the fire service in Kent up to 1984, when the book was published.

This is the hard back edition with dust cover, 254 pages, lightly illustrated in black & white.

It is a new book which has been in store for over 20 years.
