This AEC Mercury / Merryweather pump escape (XHJ 219) was new to Southend-on-Sea Fire Brigade in 1960 and transferred to Essex on local government reorganisation in 1974.

This 1964 Dennis F106 water tender (AJN 385B) was also new to Southend and is distinguished by having two bumper-mounted bells.

This Dennis F28 pump escape was new to Essex County Fire Brigade in 1962 and is seen here in preservation twenty years later.
