Merseyside introduced a dedicated hazmat (hazardous materials) team in 2008 and the first hazmat response pump was a converted 1994 Dennis SS243 / Excalibur, L247 STJ.

It was soon replaced by this 2008 purpose-built MAN TGM 15.280 / TVAC Plastisol hazmat pump, DK08 GJX, based at Bromborough.
