Guildford in Surrey was, and still is, the home of Dennis fire engines so eyebrows were raised in 1970 when Surrey Fire Brigade switched allegiance to Ford. This is DPE 42J, a Ford D600 / HCB-Angus water tender.

APA 94H was one of five accident rescue vehicles built by the brigade on the Land Rover 109 chassis in 1969/70.

Another Ford of the early 1970s is seen here on the run at Reigate in August 1978.

This is either an HCB-Angus or an A. E. Smith & Son built machine and if anyone can confirm details of it I would be pleased to hear from them.
