In 2003 SembCorp Utilities acquired assets previously owned by ICI from the Enron Corporation. SembCorp provides utilities and services, including fire protection, to most of the petro-chemical companies on the Billingham, North Tees and Wilton sites in Teesside. In 2007 the company secured a contract to provide cover for BASF at Seal Sands.  

 

At Wilton in 2004 was this 1989 Volvo FL6.17 / HCB-Angus foam tender (TES 333S [re-registered]), one of three similar appliances operated by SembCorp.

 

The second is this 1990 Volvo FL6.17 / HCB-Angus foam tender (H831 JPY) seen at the North Tees site in 2004. These appliances are fitted with a 1,000gpm pump and carry 100gals of water and 500gals of foam. Originally built with a BCF capability they now carry 750kg of dry powder ... ...

 

The third, Billingham's 1991 Volvo FL6.17 / HCB-Angus foam tender (J409 SEF), is 1m shorter than the other two because of restricted space in the fire station appliance bay. It carries a 9.5m ladder instead of the 10.5m as carried by the appliances at Wilton and North Tees.

 

... ... and a Williams Patriot 1 monitor, capable of delivering 1,000USgpm, is mounted on the roof. Hydrochem technology enables this to deliver both foam and dry powder.
