The main HVP module has a hose recovery unit (HRU) which can be operated from either side of the vehicle and this is moved into position using a pendant control. The unit is driven from the prime mover’s PTO-hydraulic transmission by means of a connection from the hook-lift system. Two crew members climb into the hose box via the rear ramp, which incorporates access steps, and attach themselves to the safety rail by harnesses. Once inside, the crew take the pendant control for the recovery unit and the hose box door is closed.
