London’s Dennis F103 emergency tender (VYE 235) was new  in 1959 and remained in service at Lambeth for 20 years. It was bought for preservation in 1980.

This AEC / Merryweather turntable ladder (YKP 177) was transferred to London from Kent Fire Brigade in 1965 and is seen here at Bromley. The ladder set was re-chassised from Folkestone’s 1938 Albion (EKP 395) in 1957.

The Magirus  ladders on this 1959 AEC Mercury (VYE 234) were rechassised from 1931 Dennis GT 6694. It was the first enclosed-cab turntable ladder for London and was photographed at Southwark in 1984 after it had been taken into preservation but before restoration.
