Three Mersey Tunnels, under the River Mersey, connect Liverpool with the Wirral Peninsula. A rail tunnel (1886) and the Queensway road tunnel (1934) connect Liverpool with Birkenhead while the Kingsway road tunnel (1971) connects Liverpool with Wallasey .

 

1993 Dennis DFS237 / Penman Multilift prime mover, K946 OHF, with 1992 Bence breathing apparatus support demountable body on the run at Birkenhead in September 2009.

 

This 1994 Dennis DFS241 / Cargotec Multilift prime mover, L39 SFY, with 1991 Leicester Carriage Builders hazmat unit was on the run at Kirkdale.
