6,100 USgals of water and 515 gals of foam were carried, two 1,250-USgpm pumps were
installed and two 1,200-gpm monitors were mounted on the roof.
The USAF had 64 of these trucks.
The Oshkosh P-15 was renowned as the world's biggest fire truck. This 1980 version,
80L 7W at Mildenhall, was one of two brought into the United Kingdom for the protection
of USAF air bases. The other went to Fairford.
The P-15 was powered by two 12-litre Detroit Diesel 8V92T engines producing a top
speed of 50 mph.
