OPP 597V was a 1980 vehicle seen at Great Missenden in 1996.

In the mid-1990s Buckinghamshire FRS acquired several Bedford M1120 water carriers converted from ex-Ministry of Defence trucks by L W Vass & Co by the installation of a purpose-built tank.

UPP 641R, seen here at Broughton in 1999, was a 1977 vehicle.

HKX 482T was a 1979 vehicle pictured at Stokenchurch in 1998.

These vehicles were fitted with sparge pipes to spray water around the appliance to assist in damping down heath fires and to protect it while in use at such incidents.

A light portable pump and hose-reel were installed on a rear platform. The use of this independently-powered unit obviated the need for a power-take-off and enabled the appliance to pump on the move.
