Canterbury's turntable ladder is a 1996 Iveco-Magirus 150E27 / GB Fire / Magirus DLK23-12C, P995 KKK, fitted with a cage at the head of the ladder. The ladder will depress below the horizontal, allowing easy access to the cage.

The ladder was pitched to provide access to the roof space at the west end of the cathedral. Firefighters had to negotiate the length of the roof void to reach the 'fire' at the east end of the building.
