By the time this Ford D1617 water tender ladder, PPF 647R, had been built by Anglo Coachbuilders (forerunners of Angloco) in 1977, Surrey Fire Brigade had gone over to fluorescent paintwork for most new appliances.
TPJ 624S was one of six water/foam carriers built in brigade workshops on the Bedford M1120 4x4 chassis in 1978.
On the run at Reigate in June 1979 was this 1976 Ford D1114 / A. E. Smith & Son water tender ladder, MPG 292P.
