This 1997 Volvo FL6.14/ Carmichael water tender ladder/emergency tender (P151 XBB) was photographed in 2004 while allocated to Amble.

A sign of the times; this rear view of the same appliance shows the county council’s advertisement for careers in childcare. The side lockers of Northumberland’s pumps carry advertisements for Drager, manufacturers of breathing apparatus and gas detection instruments. One wonders how much the general public are influenced in their choice of such equipment by these displays!
