1953 Commer 45A / Miles pump escape (GNL 149). Twenty appliances of similar design were were ordered between 1951 and 1964, although the last two were actually built by Victor Healey of Gloucester. Some of these went on the run as water tenders and some as pump escapes.

One of ten Dennis F8 / Miles water tenders (JTY 552) acquired by the brigade between 1954 and 1957. The Miles version was the only Dennis F8 with a 400 gallon water tank, thus qualifying it as a water tender. The Dennis-built appliances all had smaller tanks and were therefore properly designated as pumps.
